PRESS RELEASE 09.12.2015 The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation in a major step in improving the quality of the roads in the city would recarpet 1800 kilometers of roads in the Corporation limits with an estimated cost of Rs. 337 crores and sanctions have already been given for 912 works and the GHMC is also planning to fill up all the pot holes in the GHMC jurisdiction. Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy, Commissioner & Special Officer, GHMC, senior engineering officials along with quality control cell had a surprise visit to some of the road recarpeting works at Basavataraka Rama Indo American Hospital at Road No.3, Road No.14 Jubilee Hlls whether the roads are laid as per the specification and quality prescribed and he has also inspected the road works at TRS Bhavan today. The Comissioner also directed the officials to involve the local residents and representatives of the organisations where the road repairing works are taken duly obtaining the signatures whether the roads have been laid as per the quality control to have a clear transperancy.
