Congress leaders vow to bring change in Old City politics

Hyderabad, December 28: On the eve of Congress Party Formation Day on Monday, Congress Party Flag was hoisted in all the Assembly Constituencies and municipal divisions of Old City of Hyderabad.

Greater Hyderabad Congress Committee (Minorities Department) Chairman Shaik Abdullah Sohail hoisted the flag at historic Charminar. Other senior leaders including GHCC General Secretary Syed Nizamuddin, Mohammed Moosa Khasim Qhudoos Ali, Kazam Hussain Khan, Mirza Askar Ali Baig, Mohammed Zaker and Barkath  Ali were also present.

Speaking on the occasion, Abdullah Sohail said that the Congress party was strengthening its base in the entire Old City of Hyderabad. He said that the Congress party would contest from all wards in the forthcoming GHMC elections. He enthralled party workers to launch mass contact programmes in their areas. He said only Congress party could fight against the communal forces and victory of Congress was essential for the protection of secularism in the country.

Abdullah Sohail said that the Old City of Hyderabad needs to be liberated from the communal clutches of MIM and BJP. He said that the MIM and BJP have been strengthening each other by pursuing communal politics. They have only exploited the religious sentiments of different communities for political gains. "Asaduddin Owaisi's speech remains incomplete without making a mention of Prime Minister Narender Modi and BJP leader Kishan Reddy targets Owaisi brothers in his statements. They are indulging in cross-publicity. They never spoke about the problems being faced by the common man in Hyderabad. But now Congress party will put an end to this communal politics," he said.

Syed Nizamuddin, in his speech, asked Congress workers to enlighten the people on the failures of MIM, TRS Government in the State and BJP Government at the Centre. He advised youth to join Congress party to stay away from the politics of radicalisation, polarisation and intolerance. He said that the Congress party would bring the much needed change in the Old City of Hyderabad.
