GREATER HYDERABAD MUNICIPAL CORPORATION PRESS RELEASE 10.12.2015 The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation is having around 1,450 slums for which the Government of Telangana is planning to take up double bed room housing scheme in a phased manner in all the slums which are existing in the GHMC limits said some of the Hon'ble Ministers on laying foundation stones ceremony held at various areas in the GHMC jurisdiction. Sri Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister, Hon'ble Ministers Sri Nayini Narsimha Reddy, Sri T. Padma Rao, Sri T. Srinivas Yadav along with Sri K.T. Rama Rao have participated in various programme held in various areas of GHMC today. Speaking on the occasion Hon'ble Minister for IT & Panchayat Raj said that the Government of Telangana is planning to make Hut free and Slum Free City in which 1,08,000 double bed room houses will be constructed in a phased manner. The GHMC is having around 1,450 slums and also at Government lands identified wherever the feasibility is there in which these double bed room constructions will be taken up, he added. The Hon'ble Minister IT & Panchayat Raj said that for this year around 10,000 houses, 25,000 next year and 50,000 in the coming years for which detailed proposals and planning is being made by the Government of Telangana. In the history of GHMC no other State in the entire Country has taken up two bed room housing scheme and it is very proud to announce that this scheme has been already implemented at IDH Colony which is an example. Sri K.T. Rama Rao, Hon'ble Minister for IT & Panchayat Raj said from the last 30 years there are heavy power cuts for which citizens have faced lot of problems by poor families and downtrodden people and also lot of unemployment was also a problem keeping in view of the importance of all these facilities Hon'ble Chief Minister Sri KCR has taken up a decision of 24 hours power supply for the convenience of the citizens. Sri Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister said that the Government of Telangana has already issued 1,08,000 pattas at free of cost and were in the records and the Government has also provided Rs. 1000 pensions, Rs. 1500 for Physically disabled persons for their livelihood. Sri Nayini Narsimha Reddy, Hon'ble Minister for Home said that the Government is waived Auto Transport tax for Rs. 77 crores for the benefit of the auto drivers and also providing Rs. 5 lakhs insurance Scheme to them for their livelihood. Sri T. Padma Rao, Hon'ble Minister for Excise said that the water reservoirs are dried up and as per the vision of the Hon'ble CM the government is planning to provide drinking water to the citizens T. Srinivas Yadav, Hon'ble Minister for Commercial Tax said that the Government is going to waive Rs. 400 crores electricity and drinking water charges which is highly appreciative and further praised the Hon'ble CM for taking up two bed room houses to the poor people without taking a single rupee from them.
