The Telangana state government has come up with a new solution to tackle mosquito bites that cause dengue and malaria.
A report in Deccan Chronicle states that from next year girls will wear full sleeve shirts and salwars to school while boys will wear full sleeve shirts and trousers. Right now school students can wear short sleeve shorts and skirts but this leaves them exposed to mosquitoes.
Health and family welfare officials have apparently felt that changing the school uniform would help prevent school students from getting malaria and dengue. Both government and private schools will have to follow the new school uniform code.
