APPREHENSION OF HABITUAL OFFENDER ASARA RAVINDER @ RAVINDER BY MARREDPALLY POLICE.
COMPLAINANT DETAILS:
- Smt. S. Anjali Devi w/o Late. S. Adhinarayana, age: 47 years, Occ: TSRTC Employee, R/o H.No. 1-30-138, Kanajiguda, Tirmulgheery, Secunderabad of Cr. No. 278/2015 U/s 379 IPC of Marredpally PS.
- Sri M. Lingam, S/o Ramaiah, aged 38 years, Occ. Driver, R/o H. No. 3-37/1, Kondapur (V) Ghatkesaru of Mahaboobnagar District of Cr. No. 290/2015, U/s 379 IPC of Marredpally PS.
DETAILS OF THE ACCUSED:
Asara Ravinder @ Ravinder S/o A. Ramchandram, Age: 42 years, R/o: H. No. 3-6-59/2, Flat No. 301, Priyanka Aprts, Boosareddyguda, West Marredpally.
FACTS OF THE CASE:
On 19-10-2015 at JBS. Bank Baroda ATM about 16:00 hours complainant Smt. S. Anjali Devi had withdrawn an amount of Rs. 5,000/- from Bank of Baroda at Jubilee Bus Station and she was busy in counting money which she has drawn. The accused who was behind her had replaced the ATM Card and taken her ATM Card, as she was uneducated she don’t know about ATM’s and normally left from that place. On the same day the accused had withdrawn an amount of Rs 22,800/- from her account by using the ATM Card from ATMs at JBS and Sirsilla. In this regard a case in Cr. No. 278/2015 U/s 379 IPC has been registered.
In another similar offence the accused also stolen the ATM Card of Sri M. Lingam, Kondapur (V) Ghatkesaru of Mahaboobnagar District on 30-07-2015 when he came to ATM of Bank of Baroda at JBS to enquire about his balance as he didn’t get the details, he asked the help of the accused who stood his back side. The accused helped the complainant and informed the cash balance to the complainant and the accused given another ATM card to the complainant and on the same day i.e. 30-07-2015 the accused had withdrawn a amount of Rs 3000/- from the complainant’s account from SBH ATM at Uppal. In this regard a case in Cr. No. 290/2015, U/Sec 379 IPC has been registered at Marredpally PS.
INVESTIGATION DONE:
During the course of investigation Sri C. Umamaheshwar Rao, Inspector of Police, Sri B. Narahari, Sri G. Rajashekar Reddy DSI and his team investigated the case and detected the above case with the help of CCTV footages on 16-11-2015 at 20:00hrs and arrested the accused Asara Ravinder @ Ravinder and recovered (1) ATM Card, cash of RS. 22,000/- and one receipt of cell phone from his possession and remanded him to judicial custody.
MODUS OPERANDI:
The Accused target the ATM’s in the busy and crowd places and the ATM’s without security and waits for the people who cannot operate or doesn’t have knowledge and waits as if he come for withdrawal by keeping the dummy ATM or other stolen ATM cards with him, when any person come for withdrawal who could not operate the ATM properly, he interferes and try to help them, in the process he places their ATM and ask the PIN and after withdrawal of amount, he gives them the cash withdrawn and the dummy ATM in place of theirs, and steals their ATM Card. after that he escapes from there and by memorizing their PIN No. he goes to another ATM Center and withdraws the amount from their ATM With PIN.
PREVIOUS CASES: The accused Asara Ravinder @ Ravinder is involved in (3) Cases of Siddepet PS and (2) unreported offences as per the confession of the accused.
Sri C. Uma Maheshwar Rao, SHO Marredpally, B. Narahari, Addl. Inspector, SI Rajashekar Reddy and their team members have done a good work and detect the case.
