Police Communications Organization & Police Computer Services & Standardization are two technical Units of AP Police Department.

Police Communication Organization:   Andhra Pradesh Police Radio Organization was established way back in 1948.   Since then, this Organization is supporting Law enforcing agencies by providing the Communication facilities round-the-clock.  This is a state wide Organization located in the 1st floor of new Chief Office building.   At the time inception of this Organization was small and the infrastructural requirements were also less and the accommodation provided in those days was sufficient to meet the infrastructural requirements then.

Police Computer Services & Standardization: is going ahead with large scale computerization across the state.  This challenge has initiatives such as development of software applications, procurement of hardware, setting up communications infrastructure for networking, building up physical infrastructure, Capacity building, Change Management of Processes,  Designing and Standardizing the Departmental Procedures.

Existence of Tech Tower:

In view of increasing digital involvement in crime, , it is proposed to bring PCO & PCS, the technical wings under one umbrella for the better policing, Hence a separate building for the Police Communications Organization and PCS&S proposal by DGP subsequently a proposal send to Government for approvals and budgets. The same was approved by the government.

Tech Tower at Mangalagir

Tech Tower for Andhra Pradesh is proposed in an area of 5000sqm in the area alienated from 6th Batalions at Mangalagiri. Police Communications (PCO) wing and Police Computer Services (PCS) wing are proposed to be located in the proposed Tech Tower building. The total plinth area of the Tech Tower is 34100sft with 8525sft in each floor. The building will be structurally designed for construction of additional two floors in the future. The total cost of the project is Rs.10,67,00,000.00.The Tech Tower will be a four storied structure consisting of the following facilities:

Floor wise Allocation of Tech Tower :

1. Ground floor: Ground floor consists of the stores and workshops of PCO & PCS along with their departmental heads and staff.

2. First Floor: First floor consists of PCS wing with its Data Centre, office spaces for IG, SP, AD(Tech), DSPs, Project room, Development Lab and T1, T2 &T3 labs.

3. Second floor: Second floor consists of PCO wing with office spaces of IG, DIG, DSPs, AO offices, Inspectors & Sis and training labs along with space for night shift space for ladies and gents.

4. Third floor: Third floor consists of Command Control Centre, office spaces for ADGP, SP, conference hall and training labs for PCO & PCS.
