Press note on conviction of...........



Press note on conviction of Puli Obulesu s/o P. Seshaiah age 38 yrs, occ: Police Constable No.652, CPL Amberpet, Hyderabad R/o H.No.288, 2nd Floor near Raj Shekar Statue, Narsingi, RR district N/o Truvengalapuram (v), Porumamilla (M), Badwel (Th) Kadappa District. 
            On 19-11-2014 the accused P.Obulesu a constable working in CPL Amberpet earlier worked in Grey Hounds has mercilessly fired with stolen AK 47 weapon at KBR Park, at about 7-30 AM and attempted to kidnap famous industrialist Sri K.Nityananda Reddy to kidnap for ransom by entering into the Audi Car of the complainant. The victim Nityananda Reddy did a brave act and also followed by his own brother Sri Prasad Reddy and prevented the accused to fire upon them.   However the accused managed to escape from the scene of offence by leaving the weapon there  itself. 
            Banjara Hills Police registered a case in Cr.No. 1387/2014 U/s 307, 364(A) IPC and Arms act.  During the investigation, the police have nabbed P.Obulesu within 24 hours and the accused further confessed similar type of crime where the accused kidnapped Sri Kaki Sirish and extorted Rs.10 lakhs from him in the month of February 2014.   Another case in Crime No.1400/2014 U/s 364 (A) and Arms Act was registered.  The accused has stolen AK 47 from Grey Hounds Unit in the month of December-2013 from Grey Hounds Unit and hidden the weapon in the deep forest near Nandyal Forest.  At the time of both the offences mentioned above he brought the weapon from the forest and committed offences.  The accused is expert in handling the weapon and indiscriminately fired around 20 bullets near KBR park in order kidnap famous industrialist of Arivinod Company Sri K.Nityananda Reddy.
         In both these cases vital clues i.e. seizure of weapon AK 47, CC footage and scientific evidence were collected meticulously. Test of Identification parade was also conducted and filed the charge within 90 days.   The case was Trial  conducted in Hon’ble Metropolitan Sessions Judge  court by Public Prosecutors Sri Bala Buchaiah and Sri Shivaiah.  Total 38 witnesses were examined including documents and FSL reports.
       To-day i.e. on 15-10-2015, the Hon’ble Metropolitan Sessions Judge Smt P.Rajini pronounced judgement that the accused convicted and sentenced to undergo life Imprisonment in both the cases mentioned supra.
            In this case the investigation officers are P.Murali Krishna, Inspector of Police, Banjara Hills and SI S.Santhosham, and the investigation was supervised by Sri Uday Kumar Reddy, ACP Banjara Hills and DCP West Zone Sri A.Venkateshwara Rao, IPS under the guidelines of Commissioner of Police, Sri M.Mahender Reddy, IPS.
