Sudheer Commission suggests model schools and hostels for Muslim students in every district

Hyderabad: Sudheer Commission which has been setup to review educational, economic and social backwardness of the Muslims, has suggested for starting model schools, hostels and training centers for various vocational courses in each district.
This was proposed while reviewing the status of Muslims with the officials of the departments of Minorities Welfare, Health and SETWIN. It was also suggested that minorities candidates should be given coaching along with other communities so as to inculcate competitive spirit. Commission also suggested the officials of the Department of Minorities Welfare to furnish the details of the beneficiaries of various welfare scheme in all the districts. Commission was of the opinion that the Muslims are not being benefited with the welfare schemes initiated by the Govt. for which the shortage of subordinate officials in the city and the district is responsible. The commission expressed the difficulties the Muslims faced in getting loans from the banks. It asked the officials to provide guidance to the people. The higher officials of the Department of Minorities Welfare should make alternate arrangement for providing this guidance. It also suggested enhancement of mess charges for the Muslim students on par with SCs and STs.
Mr. Mohammed Jalaluddin Akbar, Director of Minorities Welfare and Mr. Shafiullah, MD of Minorities Finance Corporation presented the details of various schemes launched for the benefit of Minorities. The commission told the officials that the benefits of these schemes should reach the maximum number of deserving persons.
Director of SETWIN informed that more than 10000 candidates have been trained in various professional courses. The commission expressed the need for setting up vocational training centers of SETWIN in districts also.
It is expected that Sudheer Commission of enquiry would submit its report to the Govt. by March next year.
