BRAND YOURSELF. YOU ARE ENTERING INTO A GREAT FUTURE:
AJIT K DOVAL, KC, NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISER TO IPS TRAINEE OFFICERS
Hyderabad, October 31, 2015
Shri Ajit K Doval, Kirti Chakra, National Security Adviser, Chief Guest at the Passing Out Parade of the 67 RR (2014 Batch) of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVP NPA) has called upon IPS officer trainees to “Brand themselves”. “You are entering into a great future. Live up to your vision and live up to destination. There may be conflict of interest, conflict of values, reality and perceptions while you are in discharge of duties. You have to rise above everything and withhold the everlasting spirit”, he told IPS trainees.
Shri Doval, narrating how the war has changed its complexes revealed, “Now it is a war of a policeman, as civil society is mostly affected. If you win, the country wins. Many countries are collapsing with internal security problems. Only police can fight and win the battle. He reminded Lord Buddha’s last saying on death-bed ‘AATMA DEEPOBHAVA’ is to be practiced and added that the IPS Officer Trainees need to light their own path.”
While complimenting the passing out IPS Officer Trainees he reminded 47 years back he also passed out in this very Academy. He gave special compliments to all awardees and hailed the services of NPA Director Ms. Aruna Bahuguna for making changes with better facilities and also greeted faculty team for their hard work in building the IPS Officers. “This is a special day as Nation is observing the birth anniversary of Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and this is also the day our young and energetic IPS Officer Trainees are passing out.”
In her welcome and introductory speech Director of the National Police Academy Ms. Aruna Bahuguna said, “The trainees will face a dramatically different world for the bulk of their careers than they see today. In all likelihood, during the course of their careers, India would have become one of the world’s largest economies & a military super power. They would be looking to us for leadership. It is for such a world that the NPA needs to prepare the police officers of tomorrow. All the classroom knowledge in the world will not work if not applied in the real world context.”
Shri Doval presented trophies to meritorious IPS Officer Trainees. In all, 156 officer trainees including 28 lady officers, 06 officers from the Royal Bhutan Police Service, 04 from the Maldives Police Service and 05 from Nepal Police Service completed 46 weeks of Phase I rigorous training. Dikshant Parade is the culmination of 46 weeks of training of the IPS Officer Trainees in the Academy.
