Dadri lynching: Incident result of Mohammad Akhlaq's son's affair with Hindu girl, alleges ABVP

Dadri lynching
The ABVP will push the love affair theory during a 'discussion' on 'appeasement politics' on the first day of a convention.

RSS student wing Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) is set to claim that theDadri lynching happened because one of the sons of (deceased) Mohammad Akhlaq was having an affair with a Hindu girl.
According to the Indian Express, the ABVPis set to take this stand at its annual state-level convention to be held in Sitapur from November 1 to 3. Interestingly,Uttar Pradesh governor Ram Naik has been invited to be the chief guest at the convention.
The ABVP will push the love affair theory during a 'discussion' on 'appeasement politics' on the first day of the convention, says the Indian Express report.
"It has appeared in a section of the media in western UP that one of Akhlaq’s sons had an affair with a local Hindu girl and his family was attacked on the same dispute," ABVP Awadh region organisation secretary Satya Bhan told The Indian Express.  "But leaders of different political parties diverted the issue towards another reason, of beef consumption, for appeasement of minorities for political gains. UP minister Azam Khan's move to write to the UN, also maligned the image of India. It will be clarified at the convention," he added.
Satya Bhan was also quick to allege that the UP government had provided financial help to the bereaved family only because they belonged to the minority community. As it happens, the ABVP is not clear as to which son of Akhlaq the Hindu girl was supposedly having an affair with.
The other issues to be discussed at the convention would be communal harmony, women's security, female foeticide, commercialisation of education, student union elections, terrorism, unemployment, poor condition of farmers in UP, law and order situation of the state and 'involvement of foreign forces in promoting Naxal activities in the country', said Indian Express.
Mohammad Akhlaq was dragged out of his home and killed by a mob this month following rumours that his family was storing beef. His son Danish was also assaulted and received serious injuries, spending time in a hospital. The incident had sparked off widespread outrage in the political class and among the public.
