Women robbed of cash, gold chain.

Two women were robbed of cash and gold chain in differentincidents in the city on Sunday.

Two men on a motorcycle snatched a gold chain weighing four-and-a-halftola from a woman at Prabhat Nagar Colony under Chaitanyapuri PoliceStation limits on Sunday morning.

The victim, Prabhavati (55), resident of Prabhat Nagar Colony was on her way to a temple near her house when two men on a motorcycle approached her on the pretext of enquiring an address.

The pillion-rider then snatched the gold chain and managed to escape even as Prabhavati tried to catch him. Police haveregistered a case and are investigating it. In another incident, a 52-year-old woman was robbed of Rs 1 lakh by two men on a motorcycle near Rathifile bus stand under Gopalpuram Police Station limits in the wee hours of Sunday. dwnews Padmavathi, a native of Warangal district, was at the bus stand around 4 am waiting for her relatives when the incident occurred.

“We suspect the handiwork of attention diversion gang which is targeting lonely women using the ploy of interacting and then speeding away in a vehicle after snatching,” the cops said.

A case has been registered underSection 382 of the IPC. Further probe is underway, police said.
