Total lunar eclipse on September 28
There would be a total lunar eclipse on September 28, which, however, cannot be seen in India. This happens at a time when the moon is not in the sky in India. “What we can see is a brighter than normal full moon or what is sometimes called a super moon,” said B.G. Sidharth, Director, B.M. Birla Science Centre. Another reason for that is that the moon coincidentally would be at its closest approach to the earth and therefore appears slightly bigger and brighter. Incidentally, a full moon closest to the Autumnal Equinox, (on September 23) is called a ‘harvest moon’. This is because during the harvest season, the full moon brightens up the sky.
But it can’t be seen in India. We can see a brighter than normal full moon
