PRESS NOTE

GOPALAPURAM POLICE NABBED SNATCHERS  (WITHIN 5 DAYS)                                   IN CR. NO. 286/2015 U/S 382 IPC OF GOPALAPURAM PS.

COMPLAINANT : Smt Malgareddy Padmavathi W/o Srinivas Reddy, age 52 years,              Occ: House Wife, R/o: Boopalapally (V & M), Warangal District

ACCUSED- 1) KARANGALA NIKHIL S/O SRINIVAS @ CHINNA, AGE 19 YEARS, PRESENTLY  R/O. LALLAGUDA, SECUNDERABAD, previously    R/O. MALKAJGIRI, RANGA REDDY DISTRICT

ACCUSED-2) MODAMPALLY CHARAN TEJA S/O SRINIVAS, AGE 21 YEARS, OCC: INTERNET PROVIDER , R/O H. NO. 11-23, BJR NAGAR, MALKAJGIRI, RANGA REDDY DISTRICT.

DETAILS OF THE CASE:

On 12.09.2015 the complainant came to Hyderabad from Bhoopalapally, Warangal Dist. On 13-09-2015 at about 0400 hours while she was going by walk towards 31 No. Bus Stop, Secunderabad, the accused persons came by two-wheeler and snatched away her handbag containing ₹ 1,00,000/-, One Cell Phone Bearing No. 9989205005 and some cards.

INVESTIGATION:

The two wheeler used by the offenders was identified as Green color Honda Dio through CC Camera footages. Accordingly verified in the Honda showrooms about the purchasers of Green color Honda Dio bike and apprehended A-2) M. Charan Teja. Later      A-2 confessed to have committed this offence along with A-1) K. Nikhil who was also  apprehended and recovered 46,000/- from them.

The A-1 is a ex-offender and was previously arrested by Gopalapuram PS in                       Cr. No. 135/2013 U/s 382 IPC and by Kushaiguda PS in Cr. No. 136/2012 U/s 394 IPC. After releasing from jail in the above cases, A-1 worked as Carpenter and his earnings were very meager to mitigate his financial problems. Accordingly, he hatched a plan to commit thefts of valuables. In that process, he explained about his plan of bag snatching to his friends   Sai Kumar and Charan Tej and they accepted his plan. A-1 and Sai Kumar, aged 19 years, R/o. Prashanth Nagar, Moula-Ali committed bag snatching in the limits of Tukaramgate PS in the month of October, 2014,  subjected to Cr. No. 183/2014 U/s 382 IPC of PS Tukaramgate.

MODUS OPERANDI:

Further, on 12.09.2015 in the evening hours the A-1 & A-2 met at Malkajgiri and since then they wandered in twin cities by Honda Dio bike of A-2. On 13.09.2015 at 0400 hours, they both came to Secunderabad Railway Station and found the complainant was going by walk lonely by hanging handbag to her shoulder. A-2 who was riding the bike went too close to her and the A-1 snatched her handbag and sped away and later, shared the amount.

COMMENDABLE WORK:

The good work was done by the Crime team of Sri S. Raghunath, Addl. Inspector of Police head by Sri S. Ramachandra Reddy, Inspector of Police, Gopalpuram PS under the supervision of Sri K. Shiva Kumar, ACP, Gopalapuram Division. The team is being awarded with suitable rewards for their outstanding and meritorious job.                                   DSI., Sri L. Bhaskar Reddy, ASI., Sri M. Koteshwara Rao and PC: 4554 Sri K. Naresh have done commendable job in this case.
