Two Elephant Tusks smugglers held



The sleuths of SOT East Zone, Cyberabad along with Alwal Police on 23-09-15 took three accused persons into custody who have smuggled two carved elephant tusks and looking for prospective customers at Green Fields Colony, Alwal in violation of Sec 51 of The Wild Life (Protection) Act 1972.
Details of the accused persons arrested:
A-1: Kucharlapati Venkata Suryanarayana Raju S/o Sri Chandra Raju age:46 Occ:business R/o Flat No.3, Krishna Sai Residency, Srinagar, Vizag
A-2: Munru Phaninder S/o Sri M.Abraham age:26 Occ:CEO of Transtech Software Solutions at S.R.Nagar R/o H.No.7-117/127, Tailors colony, Ameenpur, Patancheru, Medak
A-3: Nunna Arvind Kumar @ Arvind Reddy S/I Sri T.Rama Rao age:52 Occ:Real Estate Broker R/o Sultan Nagar, Moti nagar, Hyd

Absconding accused:

A-4: V.K.S.Chandra Bose Tigripalli @ Bose S/o T.Bhaskar Rao R/o H.No.39- 33-4/1, HIG-94, Madhavadhara, VUDA Colony, Vizag

Brief facts:

On 23-09-15 the sleuths of SOT East Zone, Cyberabad on credible information took three accused persons into custody at Green Fields Colony, Alwal who were in possession of two carved elephant tusks brought from Vizag.  They brought the tusks to Hyderabad and were looking for prospective customers as they are valued more than Rs.1 Crore in the international market.  
History of the case:  The accused Kucharlapati Venkata Suryanarayana Raju who is native of Vizag was in the circle of people who believed that some antique articles have mystical powers and were always on a hunt to either secure the persons who are in possession or intending to sell such articles or in case they  find any willing seller, to look out for prospective buyers.  Their only belief was that if they succeed in one transaction it will fetch them huge money as these antique articles are believed to fetch crores of rupees in the international market.

The accused A-1 Kucharlapati Venkata Suryanarayana Raju came into contact with the absconding accused Bose and came to know that he is in possession of two carved elephant tusks and looking for prospective customers.  He approached him and both of them agreed to look for prospective customers and Bose agreed to pay hefty commission to Suryanarayana Raju.  Raju inturn contacted his known acquaintance Phaninder (A-2) who also believed in the mystic powers of the antique articles.  Phaninder contacted A-3 Arvind Kumar and told him about the tusks.  Arvind Kumar wanted to see the articles and Phaninder told Raju to bring the tusks to Hyderabad for showing them to Arvind Kumar.  On 23-09-15 Suryanarayana Raju came to Hyderabad and he along with Phaninder met Arvind Kumar in Green Fields colony, Alwal and on credible information they were apprehended and handed over to Alwal Police for further necessary action.

The arrests were made under the direct supervision of Sri E.Ramchandra Reddy, Addl DCP, SOT Cyberabad by Sri.K.Narsing Rao, Sri N.Ch.Ranga Swamy, Inspectors of Police, Sri A.Ramulu, staff of SOT East Zone and Malkajgiri Police Cyberabad
