Delhi: Businessman robbed of jewellery worth Rs 35 lakh
A Gujarati businessman was robbed of jewellery worth Rs 35 lakh by bike-borne assailants,
who shocked him with pepper spray and snatched his bag. Police said the incident occurred
on G B Road on Sunday. According to police, Lakshman was riding towards his shop in
Chandni Chowk from New Delhi railway station area when he was robbed. Lakshman made a
PCR call and a case was registered under sections of robbery at Kamla Nagar police station
.
Police said they had retrieved CCTV footage of the incident and they were going through it to
ascertain the identity of the assailants. “Prima facie, it looks like the assailants were known to
the victim and were familiar with his route of travel,” said a police officer.
