61,000 voters in city have double ID cards..
A recent scrutiny of city voters has revealed that about 61,000 voters have double voter identity cards in GHMC limits.
About 7.57 lakh voters have changed their residences, whereas 5.59 lakh voters were not found at addresses mentioned in record books.
Speaking to media after conducting a review meeting with senior officials of the GHMC and representatives of all political parties, GHMC commissioner and district election officer Somesh Kumar on Friday urged political parties to submit their objections and suggestionsby TuesdayTuesday.
He said that in Hyderabad there were around 41 lakh voters in total.
The list of door-lock, duplicate voters, ‘shifted’ voter cases have been prepared circle-wise and would be provided to all political parties, he added. About 153 polling station buildings are going to be changed and around nine polling stations names are also going to be changed, Kumarsaid.
By September 100 electoral rolls have to be completed as per directions of the Election Commission of India.
