PRESS NOTE
BRIEF FACTS OF DECOITY
This is a case of Dacoity committed by the inter-state notorious gang
hailing from Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Uttar Pradesh states by
showing fire arms in Muthoot Finance, RC Reddy Nagar Branch, RC Puram
which occurred on 28-12- 2016 between 0915 hours and 0935 and reported
on the same date at 1030 hours where in the FIVE accused persons entered
the branch by wearing traffic police uniform, safari dresses, posing as the
officials of CBI, wielding fire arms and robbed gold jewellery weighing about
41.8 KGs and net cash Rs 91,863/-.
The place of offence is the branch office of Muthoot Finance situated at
RC Reddy Nagar of Ramachandra puram which falls under the limits of RC
Puram Police Station, Madhapur zone, Cyberabd Commissionerate.
MODUS OPERANDI
On 28-12- 2016 at about 0915 hours a person who wore Traffic constable
dress aged about 35-40 years entered the branch office along with the security
guard on duty. He was followed by four other persons, out of which one person
was clad in safari suit, one person dressed like a Sardar with Safari dress, one
person in formal dress with jungle cap, one masked person looking like a thief.
All are in the age group of 35-40 years. The person who dressed like a Traffic
constable spoke in Hindi saying that they are CBI Officers and came from
Delhi. The person dressed like a Sardarji showed the person wearing monkey
cap as a thief and said that he has mortgaged the stolen jewellery in the said
branch besides indulging in fraud with Muthoot branches by converting black
money in to white. Sardarji like person collected their phones by showing
weapon besides asking them to kneel down. While Sardarji was guarding the
employees, the Safari dress wearing person and the person wearing formal
dress with jungle cap collected strong room keys from the lady employee and
the Branch Manager and collected the jewellery by opening the almirahs. Tet
emptied the three back pack bags of the employees and filled them with the
jewellery. The person wearing formal dress went outside and brought one bag
and a multi-colour blanket and filled them with the gold ornaments. The thief
who has removed his mask subsequently enquired about the DVRs and took
the two DVRs. The person wearing formal dress sprayed perfume on the
almirahs and locker. Later they have the employees in the bath room by
bolting the door from out-side and went away.
HOW POLICE SEQUENCED THE RETREAT ROUTE OF THE OFFENDERS
THROUGH CCTV FOOTAGES
During the course of investigation, Inspectors of CCS, Balanagar, SHOs
Dundigal, Balanagar, KPHB and CI, Chevella, SIs Shabad and Inspector, RC
Puram visited Patancheru, Sangareddy, Shankarpally, Vikarabad, Parigi,
Kodangal, Ribbanpally Check Post, Sedam, Shabad and Chittapur of
Karnataka and collected CCTV footages and verified the footages and on
verification it has been observed that at the time of offence one black colour
Scorpio vehicle was parked in front of Muthoot Finance near Minar Steel
traders, and after the offence, the offenders boarded the said Scorpio having
in possession the bags and luggage and the same Scorpio left towards
Patncheru, Novopan Junction, Shankarpally, Vikarabad, Pargi, Kodangal,
Ribbanpally Check Post, Sedam and Chittapur with AP Registration Number
plate AP-28- N-3107 and it appeared that the same offenders travelled in the
said vehicle along the route.
On further verification of CCTVs, it came to light that one Black Scorpio
vehicle with MH registration number plate i.e, MH-06- AN-1174 came from
Sangareddy side and took RIGHT TURN towards Shankarpally road at
Novopan junction on 28-12- 2016 at about 08.16 hours and went towards
Shankarpally, and at about 0857 hours the same vehicle returned towards
Patancheru and RC Puram through the same Novopan junction with another
number plate i.e, AP-28- N-3107. It is established beyond doubt that the
offenders used the same vehicle for committing the dacoity.
After commission of offence, they started from Muthoot Finance i.e, in
front of Minar Steels at 0940 hours proceeded towards Shankarpally and
passed Novopan Junction towards Shankarpally at about 0942 hours. The
entire route taken by the black colour Scorpio bearing different numbers
i.e, MH-06- AN-1174 and AP-28- N-3107 starting from Sangareddy to Novopan
Junction and while taking turn towards Shankrpally and again coming back
towards RC Puram from there was captured in different CCTV Cameras
along the route. It was further noticed that one red colour Bajaj Avenger
motor cycle bearing No. KA-32- Y-3610 was found piloting the black
colour Scorpio on the day of offence while the Scorpio bearing no. AP-32-
AN-3107 was proceeding towards Karnataka state via Vikarabad, Parigi and
Kodangal, Ribbanplly, Sedam and Chittapur. Basing on the above clue, the
registration particulars of the Bajaj avenger vehicle were obtained and it came
to be known that it was registered on the name of Vijay Kumar, S/o
Chandrakanth, R/o E/1/51, Halakatta (v), Chittapur Taluq, Kalburgi ( Gulbarga
) District.
During the efforts and as per the observations of the CCTV footages of
the offenders vehicles Scorpio B.No: AP 28N 3107 and Motor Cycle Bajaj
Avenger B.No: KA 32Y 3610 are found in return route towards Shankarpally,
Vikarabad, Parigi, Kodangal, Ribbanapally Toll Gate, Sedam, Mulkhed,
Chittapur and Wadi which were located on

PROFILE OF THE GANG MEMBERS AND ASSOCIATES :
The main leader of the gang is Lakshman Narayan Mudhang @
Bhayya, S/o Narayan Mudhang, 42 years, Caste: Vaddera Samaj, Occ:
Thyrocare brand Salt and confectionary Distributor and Building POP
contractor, R/o Shivapushpa Housing Society, Row House no. A3,
Ayodhya Nagar-3, Raj Bihari Mary Link Road, behind HP Petrol Pump,
Panchavati, Nasik, Maharshtra State.
Lakshman will identify the Finance branch to be looted and
conduct reccee before committing the offence. Sunder is friend of
Lakshman and resident of Dharavi of Mumbai. Subhash will procure
vehicles and mobilize associates. Roshan Yadav who is friend of Patil
(driver) procured two pistols from his friend Twinkle Kanna, native of
Uttar Pradesh for committing these offences.
Lakshman previously went to Nasik jail, Arther road jail and Thane
jail in 1999 – 2000 in Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities
Act.

He is direct nexus with Laxman and his family also with one of the
accused person Tukaram.
He is also a Rowdy sheeter and once got externment from
Mumbai.

THUKARAM GAIKWAD
ThukaramGayakwad R/o Room no.16, bangaliChavagalli No. 1,
koldongriswamyNityanand road, Sahar road, Andheri east, Mumbai. He
is close friend to one of the accused persons Sunder.
He involved in a case of dacoity at Ghatkhopar Area of Mumbai in
the year 2000 and jailed for 5 months.
All the 6 accused have conducted the reccee and participated in
the dacoity. All the accused know each other and are accomplices in
various crimes.
Kumar Pal Trilokchand Shah is the jeweller of Mumbai. He has
been financing the offenders for committing the offences. He will
purchase the booty and offer 50% of market value to the offenders. He
has also received the stolen jewellery weighing about 17 kgs. pertaining
to the dacoities of Muthoot finance branches of Gulbarga and RC Puram
and paid them 1.2 crore + 32 lakhs, respectively.
Vijay Kumar is the cousin of Lakshman who provided food,
shelter and his Bajaj Avenger motor cycle besides participating in the
reccee.
Roshan Yadav secured the smelter from Mumbai for melting the
Gold Jewellary in to Gold bars. The gold jewellary was melted in to gold
bars in the house of Patil at Nasik.
Yuvaraj Yamaji Gaware, Occ: Medical Shop, R/o Nasik has
provided Datsun car from Umargah to go to Nasik.
Pulari, r/o Amba Jogai Taluq and Srikanth (brother of Patil),
r/o Mudegaon, Amba jogai, Bheed district have provided Maruti Swift
vehicle from Umargah to Nasik.
