Press Note on 28th Road Safety Week (21.01.2017)
Government of Telangana state has decided to observe 17th to 23rd January 2017 as Road Safety Week in order to create awareness and a greater sense of responsibility towards Road Safety.The Road Safety wing of Telangana Police Department has proposed to organize a series of activities during the week keeping in view the Causative Factors of Road Accidents.
2.0 In this connection, Day wise Programme on Road safety week to be observed is as follows:-

3.0 Today, Helmets is being the theme all the Police Officers in the State participated in Road Safety Programs against “HELMETS”.
1 Cyberabad
Commissionerate
Awareness programme conducted at ZPHS, Lalgadi MalakpetVillage, Shamirpet and with the help of Monsanto Seeds Company showed the several video clippings to the school children regarding the safety measures while going on the road.
2 Nalgonda
District
1) Sri N.Prakash Reddy, IPS., Superintendent of Police,Nalgonda District himself conducted alongwith Traffic and Law Orders Police Staff about 150 members wearing Helmets and tookout rally from Clock tower center to Hyderabad Road Milk Chilling center Nalgonda.
2) Sri N.Prakash Reddy, IPS., Superintendent of Police,Nalgonda District himself conducted “Free Eye Sight Testing Camp along with Dr. Sri A..C.H.Pulla Rao, MBBS, MS (Optho) Civil Asst. Surgeon Dist., HQrs., Hospital.
3) Devarkonda Town SHO and Staff along with Dr.Vasundar Reddy conducted Free Eye Testing Camp to the Autos and Toofan vehicle drivers and other people about 150 persons and explained the traffic rules and road accident precautionary measures.
3 Kothagudem District : Sri Ambar Kishore Jha, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Kothagudem himself along with Palvancha Town Police Station staff took out the bike rally by wearing Helmets.
4.0 The Road Safety Week is being taken very seriously by entire police of Telangana State. All the citizens and Road users are requested to take all precautionary measure while driving on the road, to avoid accidents and injuries.
5.0 The Theme for tomorrow is “SEAT BELT”.
6.0 All the officers of police department were told to conduct various programmes along with other stake holders such as HMDA and Urban Local Government Departments and spread awareness that “Seat belts save lives. Buckle up every time”.
7.0 It is decided to observe 31.01.2017 as “ACCIDENT FREE DAY”.
