“CYBER CRIMES POLICE OF CYBERABAD ARRESTED ONLINE MATRIMONY FRAUDSTER”
The accused person named Sasidharan Kattiri s/o A.V. Nair (late) age 43 years, R/o Rushtum bagh, Bangalore N/o Katiri house, Kothayur Vaniyamkulam, Ottapalem of Palakkad District Kerala state working as Admnistration officer, Dreams Infra India Limited, has registered his marriage profile in Jeevansathi.com with an intention to search for his life partner cheated the victim on the name of marriage.
On 18-10-2016, The victim resident of Madhapur, uploaded profile also registered in Jeevansathi.com. The accused has sent request to marry her. She accepted his request and communication got started and finally marriage got fixed. Then Sasidharan(accused) has asked for money from her in the name of marriage and obtaining visa to UK. As he has portrayed himself that he is a permanent resident of Vlanchester, UK. In good faith, she transferred money to his Vijaya bank account. The total amount transferred through online Rs. 7,50,000/-. apart from this amount, in the name of rituals of marriage, the accused Sasidharan Kattiri has taken a gold ring, gold chain along with a gold pendent and Sony mobile phone worth Rs.32,000/-. After taking all these goods they were supposed to get married in the presence of victims family and relatives. The accused flew and absconded after taking money and gold from her. She tried to contact him several times but he changed his mobile number. She came to know that Sasidharan Kattiri is already married person having wife and two kids. Hence she requested for taking legal action.
During the course of investigation the accused was identified and the team of officers lead by Sri E. Venkat Reddy, Inspector Cyber Crimes, SIs Vijayvardhan and Shekhar and team sent to Bangalore,. The deputed team apprehended the accused who was also involved in a Dowry harassment case of his wife. The accused is being produced before the Honble XVI MM Court, Kukatpally at Miyapur for judicial remand. The accused is also involved in similar cases in Gujarath, Karnataka and Rajasthan states.
