Burglars use chili powder, rob cashier of Rs 11 lakh. .
A 36-year-old cashier was attacked and robbed of Rs 11 lakh by four unknown persons on two bikes on Sunday morning while he was on heading to his company in Mailardevpally on Sunday.Police said the victim, Bodige Srikanth, was working with Pahal Food and Biscuits in Katedan Industrial Area and was carrying Rs 11,45,856 cash for distribution of wages to employees at another firm owned by the company owners. One of the accused sprinkled chili powder in to Srikanth’s eyes, forcing him to fall of the vehicle. Before Srikanth could recover from the incident, another person snatched away a red coloured bag containing cash from Srikanth and fled thespot.With the help of locals, the victim reached Mailardevpally police station and lodged a complaint.
A case has been registered and police were examining the CCTV footage installed in the area. Police suspect the role of persons familiar with Srikanth’s movements. A special team has been formed by the Mailardevpally police to nab the accused persons. Detective inspector Javeed said they questioned the cashier for long hours to learn more details about the attackers and were investigating the case from a host of angles. The call data in the area was also being verified to track down the suspects involved in the case.
