White topping of roads in city soon
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) which has taken up white topping road for a kilometre stretch at Banjara Hills on experimental basis has decided to take up more roads in the city using the latest technology.

The GHMC Commissioner & Special Officer, Somesh Kumar on Thursday said that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao would soon be announcing the length of roads to be taken up with white topping. Compared to the present bitumen and cement roads, the new technology roads were of higher quality, the GHMC Commissioner said in a press release.
Swachh Bharat ranking
The Swachh Bharat ranking which placed Hyderabad at 275{+t}{+h}place lacked a “scientific approach”, the GHMC Commissioner . There was no information with the municipal officials here as to when the study and assessment was made or on what parameters were considered for the rankings, he said, according to a press release. Before July 2014, Hyderabad stood at 70{+t}{+h}place and given the latest initiatives in the field of sanitation and basic infrastructure creation in the last one year, Hyderabad should surely get ranked among the top 20 cities, he said.
