Hyderabad police have beefed up security based on the inputs received from the intelligence bureau (IB) on possibleterror attacks before the Independence Day celebrations. As the Multi-Agencies Committee (MAC) analysed that about 200 terrorists from Pakistan entered the country from Gurdaspur border for carrying out terror attacks in various parts of the country, the IB issued alerts to all the States to take precautions and beef up security.

A week ago, terrorists attacked a police station in Gujarat and on
Wednesday, Jammu and Kashmir police captured a terrorist Usman Khan
alive in Udhampur with the help of local village defence committee
members. He said security personnel during investigation found that
Usman and three others had infiltrated from across the line of control
(LOC) for launching terror attacks. “We have increased security in
various parts of the city. During night hours, vehicle checking and
cordon and search operations are being conducted.
Task Force teams have increased surveillance at all the railway and bus stations,” an official told Metro India. “Apart from security arrangements and deployment of Special Forces at sensitive areas, all the teams of dog squads and bomb disposable squads are conducting searches in and around Golconda Fort, where the Chief Minister would host the national flag,” he said. “The city police have made efforts to install CCTV cameras at all the key junctions and commercial localities. Alerts have been sent to owners of malls and theatres,” he explained.
