FIVE HELD FOR ROBBING.............

Five held for robbing businessman. .

Five accused persons who were involved in a robbery case registered with Petbasheerabad police were apprehended by police on Tuesday evening. Balanagar zone Additional DCP B Srinivas Reddy revealed the details of the case in a press meet held at his office on Wednesday.

On July 16, a 59-year-old businessman B Ramesh Babu was robbed by five unknown persons and the incident took place while he was talking to his tenant Sharma. Five persons, about 25 to 30 year-old, entered his house, threatening him with knives and robbed one tula gold chain, 2.5 tula gold rings and an ATM card.

The gang withdrew Rs 50,000 and tried to withdraw another Rs 14 lakh from the bank directly. When the bank authoritiesalerted and informed the police, the gang members escaped before arrival of police.  Based on a complaint lodged by the victim, Petbasheerabad police have registered a case (crimenumber 375/2015) under section 395 of IPC.

On Tuesday evening, around 4 pm, police team of Petbasheerabad police station held and questioned five persons who were moving suspiciously. As they were trying to dispose the stolen property, police apprehended them and brought them to the police station. During the course of investigation, police identified the accused persons as Pottasiri Anka Rao @ Sharma (36) who was the tenant of victim, Jalagam Nagendra Babu (24), Addanki Ramesh (30), Vajroji Chandra Mouli (52) and Pottasiri Chinna Shanker Rao (49).

All the accused persons were produced before a court at Medchal and sent to judicial custody as per the directions of the court.
