SCSC’s Cyber Security Forum together with Cyberabad Police has conducted a seminar on “2017’s biggest Cyber Security Threats”.
Commissioner of Police Mr Sandeep Shandilya IPS has welcomed the audience and said that Cyberabad police is are on continuous learning curve to address cyber crimes and they are getting success.
Speaking during the seminar, Mr Bharani K Aroll, Secretary said that Cyber Security threats are not limited and not only affecting corporates but also the common man associated with it – shared some examples like when British Airways systems were affected with recent Malware attacks, how people were stranded across various cities.
Mr Gaurav Kataria, CIO Cyient, delivered his key note address on how the individuals, businesses across the world are moving towards the digital world and explained the scope of digital threats, starting from having a secured passwords and many more steps.
Mr Sumeet Mathur, Vice President IS from Computer Associates, explained about how one can take various measures to avoid these threats and explained which are the common ones are likely get first attacked, those include education department, health care etc and shared some of the statistics of these the extent of damage it has created and can create in future.
Mr Biswajit from Trend Micro & Mr Suvin from Paoloalto spoke on various corporate frauds taking place.
Ms Jyoti Das explained various nuances of cyber laws and shared some of the issues faced by the victims as there are still many more loop holes need to be covered.
SCSC’s Cyber Security Convener, DCP Crimes Ms Janaki Sharmila said that this seminar was organized to create an awareness about Cyber security threats and how one can safeguard themselves by taking simple measures.
During the session, speakers were asked some interesting questions on Cyber Security area and got instant answers from the speakers.
The questions ranging from data custodian, data owner & Data user – whose responsibility and onus of data secrecy in case there is a cyber attack etc.
