PRESS NOTE

This is the case of organized procurement, possession and inter state transportation of Ganja from Vizag to Mumbai. It is a joint operation by SOT Madhapur, Cyberabad, Taskforce West Zone, Hyderabad, interception and arrest of drug offenders namely Beesu Naresh and Macharla Madhu.

On receipt of reliable information SOT Madhapur, WEST zone Task force along with SHO Narsingi waylaid and intercepted a Hyundai Verna car Br. No. AP 25 R 0024 at Puppalguda toll gate and the other vehicle sped away towards Patancheruvu has been chased by the SOT teams. The main accused Ravi and Krishna Goud and others abandoned the vehicle Br. No AP 25 R 0024 on the ORR and absconded.

The first vehicle was searched in presence of mediators and found Ganja weighing about 200 kgs neatly packed in 93 packets. On enquiry the arrested accused(A3 & A4) confessed that they both are experienced drivers. The main accused Ravi and Krishna and another who are absconding engaged them and were instructed to take the crime vehicle AP 03 BZ 2887 along with contraband to Mumbai through ORR. They were given the crime vehicle at Kondapur junction and the main accused gave them cell phone, piloted their vehicle from Kondapur. The other vehicle Br. No. AP 03 BZ 2887 Nissan Micra crossed Puppalguda toll gate and sped away towards Patancheruvu on ORR. When they reached the toll gate police teams intercepted and caught them.

The SOT, Madhapur team chased and caught the other vehicle Br. No AP 03 BZ 2887 on ORR.

Brief History of the offenders :-

The main offenders namely Ravi and Krishna Goud are basically drivers from Nalgonda District. They are procuring the contraband from Vizag. They have engaged the accused 3 & 4 and transporting the contraband from Vizag to Mumbai.

Modus Operand:-

A1 & A3 have acquired 02 cars i.e., AP 25 R 0024 and AP 03 BZ 2887. They are procuring Ganja in packets from Vizag. They have been clandestinely transporting the contraband from Vizag to Hyderabad and from there to Mumbai by engaging A5 & A6 as drivers in crime vehicle AP 25 R 0024 and gave them Rs.2000/- for toll charges The main accused gave A5 & A6 a mobile phone, instructed them to keep the mobile phone on, and are giving timely instructions and clearance to follow their vehicle Br. No AP 03 BZ 2887. Today at about 1:50 PM both the crime vehicles started from Kondapur and proceeding to Mumbai through ORR. The main accused vehicle passed Puppalguda Toll gate and has given clearance to A5 & A6. The movement crime vehicle of A5 & A6 reached Puppalguda toll gate, The SOT, Madhapur, WEST Zone task force, along with SHO Narsingi intercepted the crime vehicle and arrested the offenders A5 & A6. The main accused accused Shekar arranged crime vehicle (Hyundai Verna) and contraband to the accused persons Ramakrishna, Ravi and Venkanna. They arranged the pilot car (Nissan Micra). They have been doing this illegal business from June 2017. Earliear on two occassions they have successfully transported the contraband to Mumbai. In third attempt some pseudo police caught the contraband at Sholapur and took away the material. On sale of each packet they are getting an amount of Rs 10,000/-. Yesterday all these (4) accused ie., Shekar, ramakrishna, Ravi and Venkanna piloted the crime vehicle ie., Hyundai Verna Car. On seeing the police they abandoned the pilot vehicle Nissan Micra on ORR. Today i.e., on 22-07-2017 The Taskforce West Zone, Hyderabad caught the accused Ravi, Ramakrishna and Venkanna and handed over them to PS Narsingi for further action. The main accused Shekar is absconding. The accused A7 Ramesh is the owner of the crime vehicle Hundai Verna.

Yesterday the pilot vehicle was opened and searched in presence of mediators. On search of pilot vehicle Br. No AP 03 BZ 2887 5 packets of neatly packed contraband was found in the dickey of the vehicle. Chance prints were collected with the help of clues teams Cyberabad. A case in crime Number 516/2017 U/s 20 (b) (ii) (C) of NDPS Act. Was registered at Narsingi Police station and the case is under investigation.
