TS EAMCET 2 paper leak: Two more brokers held; 19 arrested so far
Two brokers — Kolli Rajesh Kumar and Chintapalli Janaiah were arrested and Rs 7.10 lakh was recovered from them
Telangana CID, which is probing the EAMCET 2 question paper leak case, today arrested two more brokers and recovered over Rs 7 lakh from them. With this, the total number of arrests in connection with the case so far has gone up to 19.
“In the TS EAMCET 2, 2016 (medical) question paper leakage case, today two brokers — Kolli Rajesh Kumar alias Rajesh, a native of Nellore district in Andhra Pradesh and Chintapalli Janaiah alias Johnson, a native of Nalgonda district in Telangana — were arrested and Rs 7.10 lakh was recovered from them,” CID Inspector General of Police Soumya Mishra said in a release.
Rajesh Kumar and Janaiah run consultancy office ‘Sreshta Experts’ at Dilsukhnagar here and they had secured nine students from various places in Telangana and AP states.
Rajesh handed over five students to one Rupesh of Delhi for Cuttack camp and Janaiah took the remaining four to Bengaluru camp for preparation of EAMCET 2 leaked question paper, the CID officer said.
Efforts are on to apprehend the other brokers and kingpins of the case, she said.
On July 25, the CID had registered a case under relevant sections of IPC and other provisions of the Andhra Pradesh Public Examinations (Prevention of Malpractices and Unfair means) Act, 1997, after it found in its preliminary inquiry there was prima facie a case for registering an FIR.
Probe also revealed that students appearing for TS EAMCET 2, 2016 (medical) examination from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were taken to camps set up in at least five cities about two to three days prior to the exam and were given practice with the leaked copies of two question papers consisting of 320 questions with correct answers, the CID had earlier said.
At a review meeting held here on August 2, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was informed by CID officials that Delhi turned out to be the centre for leak and there were 34 brokers, who conspired to sell the paper and as many as 200 parents were in touch with the brokers to buy the question papers.
The Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET 2) was conducted on July 9 and the results were declared on July 14. The examination was conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad.

deal to build irrigation projects will resolve a decade-old dispute
between Telangana and Maharashtra on utilization of Godavari water
The Godavari river, which passes through Telangana and Maharashtra, benefits farmers in both the states.
Telangana chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and his Maharashtra counterpart Devendra Fadnavis will sign the agreement at the Inter-state Board for Joint Irrigation Projects between Maharashtra and Telangana in Mumbai.
The inter-state water board was constituted in March, following an in-principle agreement between the two states. The board has 23 members each from both the states including their respective chief ministers.
The steps taken by Telangana and Maharashtra governments to construct irrigation projects will resolve a decades-old dispute on water utilization of Godavari river and its tributaries.
River-water sharing is a contentious issue between states because it is tied to the fate of farmers. As a result, water supply or the lack of it acquires political undertones in the parched lands of Telangana and south-western Maharashtra.
The importance of water sharing and irrigation projects can be gauged from the fact that chief minister Rao visited Maharashtra in July 2014, a month after assuming power. This is his third visit to Maharashtra in three years.
Under the agreement, Telangana will take up the construction of Medigadda, an inter-state barrage proposed under Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project, at 100 metres full reservoir level (FRL). The barrage, located 20 kilometres downstream of Kaleshwaram in Warangal district will irrigate 1.64 million acres in Telangana and 50,000 acres in Maharashtra with the help of four small lift irrigation projects.
Telangana shelved Pranahita-Chevella project to accommodate Maharashtra’s conditions and came up with a revised Kaleshwaram Project. Maharashtra had objected to Tummadi Hatti barrage at 152m FRL as part of Pranahita-Chevella forcing the Telangana government to re-engineer and redesign irrigation projects in the state, according to Sridhar Rao Deshpande, officer on special duty to Telangana’s irrigation minister.
After detailed negotiations between the two state governments, Telangana would sign an agreement to construct Tummidihatti project at 148m FRL on Pranahitha, a tributary of Godavari.
The two neighbouring states will also jointly take up Chanaka–Korata project at 213 FRL on Penganga river with 105 TMC (thousand million cubic feet) capacity. About 102 TMC of water would be utilized by Telangana, while Maharashtra would utilize 5 TMC.
After final negotiations, an agreement for survey of construction of Digras barrage proposed by the Maharashtra government will also be signed.

by Mahmood Ali has left the government red faced and the social media
buzzing.

ANGRY FANS RETORT
Ali's statement has definitely not gone down well especially amongst the fans. Several took to social media to vent their anger and suggested that it is the minister who needs to be changed not the coach.
While this comment may have been seen as a tiny scar in the celebrations, it definitely did not dent the affection and respect of the people of the country. Sindhu and her guru were given a heroes' welcome as they travelled on an open convoy on a designated path through the streets of Hyderabad as they received praises and congratulatory messages all the way.

who was looking for donors belonging to a specific dominant caste. It prompted a debate on caste-based
discrimination, a social evil that refuses to vanish.
The Twitter handle of @bloodplusapp, belongs to a group of blood donors. On Thursday, they tweeted
that a child was in need of blood belonging to "Kamma caste donors". Kamma is a powerful and
upper caste in Andhra Pradesh and Telanagana.
A number was provided along with the tweet to contact the parents of the child admitted to
Max Cure hospital in Hyderabad.
Most of the social media users denounced the demand. The group was quick to delete the tweet and
even issued an apology tweet, saying that it received the tweet from an unknown person and put it up

Waterfalls come alive in Telangana after years-long gap
Thanks to widespread rainfall, rivers and streams are drawing down loads of water.
The Kuntala waterfalls, 30 km from Nirmal in Adilabad district.
While people from near and far are visiting these places in droves, many waterfall points lack basic amenities. They are located in thick forests and the government does not allow setting up of hotels and other facilities there. This, though, is not stopping people from reaching out to the waterfalls. What they do is to arrange stay and food in nearby towns or cities and head for the destinations.
The Kuntala waterfalls is the highest waterfalls in the state. With waters from River Kadam falling from a height of 150 feet in Kuntala forest area of Neredigonda mandal in Adilabad district, this is the most-visited waterfall site today. The Telugu film Rudramadevi was partly shot here, adding to the people’s interest in visiting this place.
Kuntala waterfalls is named after Shankuntala, consort of King Dushy-anth, who is believed to have bathed here as per mythology.
Close to this is the Pochera waterfalls in Boath mandal, about 50 km from Adilabad. A narrow stream of Godavari, which flows down the Sah-yadri mountain ranges, it falls from a height of 20 metres. The beauty of the locale is breathtaking.

Draft notification on new districts on Aug 22: T'gana CM
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) today said a draft notification on formation of new districts will be issued on August 22.
KCR, who chaired a state Cabinet meeting at the Secretariat
here, told reporters that the draft notification will be issued on
August 22 on the proposed new districts and suggestions from public will
also be taken, who can submit them at the offices of district
collectorate.
The Chief Minister, who had this afternoon convened an
all-party meeting on district reorganisation, said all parties welcomed
decision on forming new districts and some parties gave suggestions.
"We will provide comprehensive information on the proposed new
districts and mandals (in the draft notification)," Rao said adding if
required, another all-party meeting will be held before a final
notification is issued on formation of new districts.
He reminded that his party the Telangana Rashtra Samithi had promised creation of new districts in its (election) manifesto.
"New districts will come into existence from Dasara. If
required changes will be made in the draft notification based on the
objections and suggestions of the public," Rao added.
The next session of state Legislature will begin from first week of September, he said.
Telangana government is maintaining cordial relations with its
neighbouring states and will very soon sign agreements with Maharashtra
on water sharing, said the Chief Minister.

More MBBS seats added to Telangana colleges
Almost all the colleges of Telangana which offer MBBS courses will now be offering 450 more seats for the commencing academic session 2016.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared the combined results of National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2016 on its official website, aipmt.nic.in much ahead of the scheduled date.
As per reports, Het Shah has topped the examination by securing 685 marks, followed by Ekansh Goyal with 682 marks, and Nikhil Bajiya with 678 marks.
Not only this, in a major announcement, the Supreme Court-Mandated Oversight Committee on Medical Council of India (SCMOCMCI), which granted permission to start three new colleges, has recently announced the decision to increase the number of MBBS seats in private medical colleges.
Details of the report:
* As per sources, the seats have been increased by 450 from the commencing academic session 2016-17
* After this decision, all the medical candidates aiming to crack Eamcet-III (for convenor quota ) will now have a better chance of getting admission
* Now, RVM Medical College, Mulugu mandal (Medak); Mahavir Institute of Medical Sciences, Ranga Reddy; and Maheshwara Medical College, Patancheru will be offering more seats
* In Telangana the total number of seats will now be 3,350 seats, including 2,350 in private college
* Earlier, SCMOCMCI, while using its power to override Medical Council of India's (MCI) decision, rejected applications of these three colleges for not fulfilling infrastructure-related deficiencies.
However, later on, it gave them the letter of permission (LoP) to start intake for 150 MBBS seats each for the commencing academic session, but with a clause.
Later, the Supreme Court decided to give a second chance to the three colleges which has however, received criticism.
While speaking on this issue, MCI member Dr K Ramesh Reddy, said, "At the most, the SCMOCMCI should have appointed another inspection team to find out if these new applicants addressed all deficiencies or not before giving them a second chance."

The accused broker, identified as Ashwani Kumar Tomar (37), director of Aakruti Consultancy Services Pvt Ltd at Rajendra Place in New Delhi, was working as an educational consultant in the national capital, the CID said.
“He secured two students and they were given practice with two sets of leaked TS EAMCET-II-2016 (Medical) entrance exam question papers in the camp conducted at Bengaluru”, the CID said in a statement.

Telangana govt announces Rs 5 crore reward to P V Sindhu
Telangana government today announced cash reward of Rs 5 crore to Olympic silver medalist in women's badminton singles P V Sindhu.
The 21-year-old from Hyderabad crumbled
under the relentless pressure created by Spain's Carolina Marin to lose
21-19, 12-21, 15-21 in a pulsating final that lasted for an hour and 23
minutes last night.
After chairing a state cabinet meeting at Secretariat here, Telangana Chief K Chandrasekhar Rao said it has been decided to provide Rs 5 crore cash reward and 1,000 yards of land to Sindhu.
Besides KCR also offered the ace shuttler a government job, if she is willing to do.
"There is a need to encourage sports personalities. Like Sania
Mirza, who brought laurels by winning several tournaments after
encouragement by the government, we hope Sindhu will also bring many

reception," Rao told reporters.

Rao also said the Cabinet decided to give cash reward of Rs 1
crore to grappler Sakshi Malik, who won bronze at the Rio Olympics.
Sindhu, the two-time World championship bronze medallist,
became the first Indian woman to clinch a Silver in the Olympics and
fifth woman player from India to win a medal in the quadrennial games.
