PV Sindhu needs 'proper coaching' to get gold next Olympics, says Telangana Deputy CM
Sindhu's present coach is Pullela Gopichand who himself is an accomplished player, a former All England champion and a national coach.
The twitteratti has hit back at the
Deputy Chief Minster of Telangana, Mahmood Ali for his rather
embarrassing and insulting comment on a new coach for Olympian P V
Sindhu.
Just when the Telangana government thought they would give
the silver medalist Sindhu and her coach Pullela Gopichand a reception
they would remember for the rest of their lives, an off the cuff remark
by Mahmood Ali has left the government red faced and the social media
buzzing.
WHAT DID MAHMOOD ALI SAY ?"We are planning to give PV Sindhu "proper coaching" so that she can get gold medal next time. The coach that she has right now is also good but we also wish for her to get a gold from the next tournament," Ali said.
Sindhu's present coach is Pullela Gopichand who himself is an accomplished player , a former All England champion and a national coach.
ANGRY FANS RETORT
Ali's statement has definitely not gone down well especially amongst the fans. Several took to social media to vent their anger and suggested that it is the minister who needs to be changed not the coach.
While this comment may have been seen as a tiny scar in the celebrations, it definitely did not dent the affection and respect of the people of the country. Sindhu and her guru were given a heroes' welcome as they travelled on an open convoy on a designated path through the streets of Hyderabad as they received praises and congratulatory messages all the way.
