Cyber Cell of Rachakonda Police Commissionerate arrested Techy for harassing doctor and his friends by posting their fake profiles in gay website.
On 29-11-2016 a reputed surgeon lodged a complaint that, someone has created his fake profiles by attaching his real pictures copied from his Facebook account and posted the fake profile in various gay websites along with his personal phone number. Since then his life became miserable as he is getting 40 to 50 calls a day from bisexuals seeking appointments for meeting.
On receipt of the complaint a case vide Cr.No. 164/2016 U/s 506 IPC and section 66 ( C ) and 67 of IT Act has been registered and took up investigation.
The investigation disclosed that, several petitions were pending against him for doing so but due to social stigma none of them requested for legal action but asked for remedy by taking steps to remove their profiles from the gay websites.
On 01-12-2016 the accused Suresh Thummala, s/o. Siva Ramakrishna, aged about 29 yrs, occ. Technical Lead, in software company at Madhapur; r/o, Pavan Plaza, near More Supermarket, Bachupally, Ranga Reddy dist. was taken into custody and seized a mobile phone containing gay porn, various fake profiles and the pictures of the victims. On interrogation, he confessed that, due to failure in his marital life he started exploring pleasure in gay activities and with the help of his two friends used to browse the Facebook profiles select the target randomly collects their contact details from their friends list. After that, they create fake profiles of the targeted persons by linking their original photographs and post them in various gay websites. The arrested person also calls the victim enquiring whether they are interested in gay activities. He Also post comments about the targeted person in the Facebook wall of his contacts stating that, he (victim) is gay.
The arrested person is produced before the Honourable XVI MM Court at Miyapur and remanded to judicial custody.
